If a recipe or settings change is made for a group of machines, it would be useful if these settings could be applied without the customer having to login to the machine and confirm the update.

Users don't need to confirm recipes on a machine right now. Unless, of course, you're using a very old machine software version.
If you're referring to updating recipes via backup/restore, I'm happy to let you know that starting with the next software version, 1.49, this will be done automatically without any user interaction.
